January 2026 Business Meeting Notes

  1. Review Agenda: No new items added
  2. Kingdom News:
  3. The Kingdom Seneschal is stepping down in May and has put out a call for someone to step forward as a successor.
  4. Kingdom Clerk of Law is stepping down and seeking a successor.
  5. Kingdom is seeking a Deputy Earl Marshall for Rebated Steel.
  6. Kingdom has chosen a new Great Officer Position for DEI&Belonging – Tim was awarded the position at Twelfth Night.
  7. Upcoming events were reviewed.
  8. Baronial News:
    1. Windlore included a very helpful guide to baronial officers in January edition.
    2. Repairs/replacements to Baronial thrones were completed at Twelfth Night.
    3. The Barony is receiving two ballistas from Declan and is planning to offer classes on Siege 101, Field Marshall 201, Basic Repairs and Ammo Building.
    4. Spring Haven Farm Ren Fair was a huge success – Barony also praised the demos done with Honeygirl Meadery and the Viking Experience, and noted excitement for the upcoming Sir Walter Raleigh Ball.
  9. Canton News:
    1. Amy Gibson stepped back from accepting the Seneschal position, so Annais will be posting a call for a successor on Discord and at the next Baronial meeting. Regardless of someone stepping forward, Annais will not be renewing her warrant past Aug 2026, but will be available to assist whoever steps into the Buckston Seneschal role after her.
    2. Exchequer – Still waiting for her warrant to be renewed, though paperwork submitted several months ago. Per baronial exchequer, this appears to be a kingdom and/or society level holdup that is effecting many people.
    3. Chatelaine – Invitation to attend Sir Walter Raleigh, help if possible.
    4. Marshal: Several newcomers at fighter practice each month.  He requested we consider some token of appreciation to offer the church, since they have hosted our gatherings for several years.
  10. Upcoming Calendar:
    1. Feb 19th – Mythology night, focus on Tyr’s Hand and Love myths
    2. Feb 24th Business meeting – virtual only, Zoom
    3. Feb 27th – Social at Honeygirl Meadery
