We represent the local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), an international organization dedicated to re-creating the lifestyle of the Middle Ages and Early Renaissance. Our area of coverage ranges from Durham and Northern Orange county all the way out to the western edge of Alamance county.
Newcomers can email the chatelain for any and all information.
Please come to any of our Baronial or Canton meetings or events – we will do our best to make you feel comfortable. If you want to attend an event and don’t have garb (medieval clothing), we have a loner closet called “Gold Key“. Let the chatelaine of your group know in advance and some clothing will be available for you to use.
Joining the SCA provides you with some benefits, such as voting privileges, access to Kingdom Newsletters as well as a reduced cost for events.
You don’t have to wait until a meeting or event to check us out. Here are a few links that will introduce the SCA to you.

Weekly Meetings
Meetings are posted on the calendar.
The location of each meeting will be posted on each calendar event. Sometimes meetings are held at alternate locations other than the church. The default location for in-person meetings is: Hillsborough United Methodist Church, 130 W Tryon St, Hillsborough, NC 27278.
Business meetings are now scheduled on the 4th Tuesday of the month (unless otherwise noted). BUSINESS MEETINGS ARE NOW VIRTUAL ONLY. If you are new to the group, get your bearings by contacting the chatelain or seneschal. The link to the virtual business meeting will be posted in the calendar on the day of the event.

Fighter Practice
Our weekly fighter practice meets from 6:00 PM to full dark, every Thursday. We practice under cover, rain or shine. Loaner armor is available, but remember to bring your own groin protection.
Practice location is in one of two places – refer to the calendar day where the location will be for that week.
Hillsborough United Methodist Church – 130 W Tryon St, Hillsborough, NC 27278. We are meeting at HUMC while the heat index is high.

To find us, enter the park and keep left, past the dog park to a large paved parking lot. We’ll be in the picnic shelter uphill from the parking area.
