Learn the European martial art of broadsword and shield, wearing steel armor. Or maybe Renaissance dueling with rapier and dagger is more your style. Beginners welcome! No experience necessary. Some loaner armor is available.
When you enter the park, bear to the left and go past the dog park. Keep going until you reach a large paved parking lot. We will be in the large picnic shelter uphill from the parking area.

What! A Juneteenth Social at Buckston's Fighter Practice
When: Thursday, June 19 from 6:00 PM to dark, rain or shine
Where: Piney Wood Park, 400 E Woodcroft Pkwy, Durham, NC. When you enter the park, bear to the left and go past the dog park. Keep going until you reach a large paved parking lot. We will be in the large picnic shelter uphill from the parking area. Look for the SCA sign.
Why: Fun and friendship
How: Bring food and drink to share. No alcohol allowed in the park. Come as you are. Yes, fighting will go on as usual. We'll have a charcoal grill going (weather permitting) if you want to cook something special.

A sewing day will be held at Annais'- information to follow on location and activities.
General bring-your-project drop-in day. I'll be happy to help if anyone needs advice, an extra hand, or to brainstorm. Otherwise it can be a social sewing bee. It's at the same place as the holiday party - the exact address will be posted closer to date, but it's by the intersection of Guess Rd. and St. Mary's.
