March 24, 2026 Buckston Business Meeting
Kingdom and Baronial News:
The Barony will be at the Viking Experience for a demo during the last weekend in March.
Coronation will be on April 5th and 6th.
Marshal News:
Fighter practice has moved back to Pineywood Park for as long as weather permits. There have been approximately 4-5 heavy fighters and 3-4 rapier coming to each practice. The Canton’s marshal is now warranted for Youth Combat, but currently no plans have been set for incorporating youth fighting.
Chatelaine News:
The canton’s pavilion has been loaned to the Viking Experience for an event.
Exchequer News:
The new kingdom report format will begin over the next month.
Seneschal News:
Still no successor identified.
Canton Matters:
No one present at the meeting wished to put in a bid to be event steward for Buckston Birthday 2026. The group agreed to put out notice on Discord and through word-of-mouth that the Canton was open to outside bids, if anyone in the Barony/Kingdom wished to run the event this year. Otherwise we will not have a Birthday event this year.
Charles Fleming suggested having a steak night at fighter practice, which was unanimously approved. A budget of $250 was voted on and also unanimously approved. It will be held on 4/16/26.
