Meeting Minutes – September 2018

25 September 2018 Business Meeting
Canton of Buckston-on-Eno
Attending:Uberto, Veronica, Aesa, Bambi, Laura and Guest Tim

General:

  • Brick City Phenomicon: Guest attendee Tim Emmert – former SCA Member – inquired about having some fighters display their armor for a heavy fighter demo at this event – we will put out the call

Financial:

  • One very minor edit to Canton Financial Policy discussed and a motion to approve with the edit, seconded and approved unanimously

Website:

  • The website is fully moved over to the Windmasters’ Hill server from the Kingdom of Atlantia server. The Windmasters’ webmaster, Tim, has been terrific in helping resolve website issues we were having. We have access to make and change our own email aliases as well, which will help when canton offices change hands.

War of the Wings:

  • Friday at 2pm is the apprentice ceremony for Philomene
  • Saturday Their Excellencies are renewing vows
  • There is no meal plan this year however we may do a Baronial kitchen tent
  • Shed run on Tuesday, 16 October – there will be no canton meeting that day

Buckston Birthday 2018:

  • Registration is up
  • Veronica will make announcements on all social media outlets and Aesa will take care of the website
  • Adrian is not available to act as Archery Marshall; Jack is Deputy and will serve as needed
  • We will have rapier
  • Christoph is Marshal in Charge
  • For children’s activities we have materials for making shields and sack races. Other idea is for “whack-a-warrior”.
    • Hoping to tap Trina for managing kid’s activities
  • Need to schedule another site visit for around mid-October
    • Should include Gaelen
  • Feast will be basic fare: 2 meats, vegetarian option, vegetables, bread
  • A&S will run all day
    • Michel will oversee
    • “show and tell” format – people are invited to bring their favorite SCA memento
  • Comedia will be about 30 minutes before Feast
  • There will be Bardic and dancing
  • There will be vendors; if there are enough we could do a “barter town”
  • Start making a list of things needed from the shed

Tuesday Night Activities:

    • 2nd movie night
    • 9th largesse
    • 16th no meeting
    • 23rd birthday planning/finalizing
    • 30th business meeting and Halloween Party
